Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A Semi Finalists At U19 Open Invitational

Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A along with fifteen of the top rep teams from British Columbia participated in Langley Fastball Association's U19 Open Invitational Fastpitch Tournament on the weekend. Fusion swept the round robin and quarter final with shutout victories in all games played including a no-hitter. 
Fusion had wins against older rivals Langley Xtreme 2000 6-0, Richmond Islanders 2000 7-0, Coquitlam Classics 2000 6-0 and Lakehill Blazers 5-0. Fusion's only loss came in the semi final against Delta Heat 2001A, a team that has won a provincial and multiple national championships by a score of 2-1.

​Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A are competing in Langley Fastpitch Association's U19 Open Invitational.
Lindsay Bell threw a gem on Friday for Fusion 2002A, allowing zero runs and besting Xtreme 2000 by a score of 6-0
Fusion tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Carlie Lawrence and Mattisen Henrotte each drove in runs during the inning.
One bright spot for Xtreme was a single in the third inning.
Bell was the winning pitcher for Fusion. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out seven and walking one.
Kaylee Walcott, Lawrence, Shaneika Hollingworth, Izzy Nicholson, Maggie Tomlinson, and Madison MacGillivray each collected one hit to lead Fusion 2002A.

Game 2
​Two Pitchers Rally Together In No-Hitter As Fusion Defeats Islanders 2000

Fusion 2002A's two pitchers didn't allow a single hit, as Fusion defeated Islanders 2000 7-0 on Saturday at Langley Fastball Association's U19 Open Invitational Tournament. Mattisen Henrotte induced a fly out to get the last out of the game.
Fusion got on the board in the first inning. Shaneika Hollingworth singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Fusion scored three runs in the sixth inning. Fusion big bats were led by Jessica Seward and Hollingworth, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Hollingworth took the win for Fusion. She lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out three. Henrotte threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Fusion totaled 11 hits in the game. Hollingworth, Lindsay Bell, and Seward each managed multiple hits for Fusion. Bell and Hollingworth each collected three hits to lead Fusion.

Game 3
​Bell Throws Shutout As Fusion Defeats Classics 2000 

Lindsay Bell didn't allow a single run as Fusion 2002A defeated Classics 00 6-0 on Saturday. Bell allowed just two hits.
Fusion pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the fourth.
One bright spot for Classics was a single in the first inning.
Bell was credited with the victory for Fusion. She lasted six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero.
Fusion totaled nine hits. Maggie Tomlinson and Kaylee Walcott each had multiple hits for Fusion. Walcott and Tomlinson each collected two hits to lead Fusion 2002A.

Quarter Final
​With Hollingworth On The Mound, Fusion  Shuts Out Blazers

Shaneika Hollingworth didn't allow a single run as Fusion defeated Blazers 5-0 on Saturday in the playoffs at Langley's U19 Open Invitational. With the win Fusion advance to Sunday's semi finals against Delta Heat 2001A at 1:00 pm, Noel Booth Park in Langley BC.
Fusion got on the board in the first inning. Hollingworth drove in one when she singled.
Fusion notched four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Fusion was led by Jessica Seward, Hollingworth, and Madison MacGillivray, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Hollingworth got the win for Fusion . She went seven innings, allowing zero runs on seven hits, striking out ten and walking one.
Fusion tallied eight hits in the game. Rachel Brissette, Seward, and Hollingworth all managed multiple hits for Fusion. Hollingworth, Seward, and Brissette each collected two hits to lead Fusion. Fusion was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Brissette made the most plays with 11.

Semi Final
Pitchers Duel In Low-Scoring Affair, Fusion Falls to Delta Heat In Semi Final

Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A took on Delta Heat 2001A in the semi final at Langley Fastball Association's U19 Open Invitational at Noel Booth Park in Langley BC.
Both teams were strong in the pitcher's circle on Sunday, but Heat was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Fusion on Sunday.
Lindsay Bell pitched the game for Fusion and recorded 18 outs. Kianna Jones (KJ) was credited with the victory for Heat. She surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out three and walking zero. Rawnie Weststrate threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bell took the loss for Fusion. She went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out 11. Megan Hendrickson started the game for Heat. She went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Maggie Tomlinson, Madison MacGillivray, and Bell each collected hits to lead Fusion. Bell hit a double in the fourth inning scoring MacGillivray to give Fusion the lead. Heat took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure their trip to the championship game.

Delta Heat 2001A went on to clinch the championship with a 9-2 victory over Surrey Storm 2001A.
