Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A coasted to an easy victory over Richmond Islanders Senior Women 15-1 on Saturday at Delta Fastpitch's U19A/Senior Women Tournamnent.
Fusion fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jessica Seward to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Fusion put up seven runs in the fifth inning. Fusion put the pressure on, lead by a single by Shaneika Hollingworth and a home run by Brooke De Jonge.
Lindsay Bell was the winning pitcher for Fusion. She allowed six hits and one run over five innings, striking out 11.
Fusion hit one home run on the day. De Jonge went for the long ball in the fifth inning.
Fusion saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Kaylee Walcott, Mattisen Henrotte, De Jonge, and Hollingworth all had multiple hits for Fusion. Walcott went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Fusion in hits.
