Following the championship win Fusion head coach Jeff Donegan stated, "What a game! What a weekend ! The girls were undefeated in six games with three come from behind wins in the playoffs, including a thrilling double extra inning with the elusive fake walk home to win the semi final game. We were down 2-0 in the gold medal game in the fifth inning and we get a grand slam, then a single, then another home run. With the tying run on second we get a strikeout from our pitcher on a full count following an eleven pitch at bat against a power hitter. I am so proud of our amazing athletes. In the past twelve months they have twenty-three wins in the United States."
