DE JONGE AND BRISSETTE COMBINE FOR TEN RBI'S AS FUSION TAKES QUARTER FINAL AGAINST DELTA HEAT 11-3
Fusion snagged a late lead and defeated Delta Heat 11-3 on Monday. Fusion was down 3-1 in the top of the fourth inning when Rachel Brissette homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs. Brooke De Jonge led Fusion to victory by driving in six runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. De Jonge drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a home run in the fifth. Fusion knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning, when Brissette singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Shaneika Hollingworth led the Fusion to victory in the circle. She allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five. Fusion socked three home runs on the day. De Jonge went deep in the fourth and fifth innings. Brissette had a dinger in the fourth inning. Fusion racked up 13 hits. De Jonge, Brissette, and Kallie Henrotte each managed multiple hits for Fraser Valley Fusion 02A 16U. Brissette and De Jonge each collected three hits to lead Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A to victory. With the win Fusion advance to the semi final at the Pride & Power Tournament in Surrey BC.
