Fraser Valley Fusion 02A took the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over White Rock Renegades 03A on Monday at the Canada Cup International Softball Championship. The game was tied at five with Fraser Valley Fusion 02A batting in the top of the ninth when Mya Galbraith hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Fraser Valley Fusion 02A collected 12 hits and White Rock Renegades 03A had eight. White Rock Renegades 03A got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for White Rock Renegades 03A. White Rock Renegades 03A evened things up at five in the bottom of the eighth inning when Lindsay Bell induced a fielder's choice, but one run scored. White Rock Renegades 03A scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for White Rock Renegades 03A came thanks to an error on a ball put in play and a double. 
Bell was the winning pitcher for Fraser Valley Fusion 02A 16U. She lasted nine innings, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out 13.
Fraser Valley Fusion 02A tallied 12 hits on the day. Brooklyn Morrison, Brooke De Jonge, and Galbraith all managed multiple hits for Fraser Valley Fusion 02A.
