Fusion Are The Only U16 Team To Advance To Top Tier Playoffs (18A)

Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A had a good day at the USA Softball, Stars & Stripes Play For A Cure Tournament in Salem Oregon. Fraser Valley Fusion 02A took on U16 to 18UA teams in pool play on Saturday and finished with a 3-0 winning record outscoring their opponents 37-9. This extends Fraser Valley Fusion's undefeated streak to ten games. Fraser Valley Fusion 02A is the only U16 team to advance to the top bracket playoffs (top 8 out of 32 teams) on Sunday. Fusion had wins against Eastside Rough Riders 18A (7-6), South Valley Storm (16-1) and Oregon Blaze Elite (14-2). Fraser Valley Fusion will take on Oregon Thunder 18A in the quarter finals on Sunday at 12:00 pm at Wallace Marine Park.

Fraser Valley Fusion 02A snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Eastside Rough Riders (18A) on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Fraser Valley Fusion 02A batting in the top of the fifth when Rachel Brissette singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
Fraser Valley Fusion 02A built a five-run lead in the first inning and then held off Eastside Rough Riders (18A) 's charge.
Fraser Valley Fusion 02A opened up scoring in the first inning, when Carlie Lawrence singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

GAME TWO: Third Inning Plays Key Role In Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A Blow Out Over South Valley Storm

Fraser Valley Fusion 02A scored ten runs in the third on its way to a 16-1 victory over South Valley Storm on Saturday. Mya Galbraith, Carlie Lawrence, Shaneika Hollingworth, Izzy Nicholson, Brooke De Jonge, and Madison MacGillivray powered the big inning with RBIs.
Fraser Valley Fusion 02A opened up scoring in the first inning, when MacGillivray drew a walk, scoring one run.
Fraser Valley Fusion 02A tallied ten runs in the third inning. Galbraith, Lawrence, Hollingworth, Nicholson, De Jonge, and MacGillivray all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Hollingworth pitched Fraser Valley Fusion 02A to victory. She allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five.

GAME THREE: Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A (16U) Sets The Stage For Victory With Early Lead Over Oregon Blaze Elite (16A)

Fraser Valley Fusion 02A grabbed an early lead on its way to a 14-2 victory over Oregon Blaze Elite on Saturday. Fraser Valley Fusion 02A scored on a single by Nicole Sparrow, a walk by Shaneika Hollingworth, a single by Lindsay Bell, an error, and a single by Brooke De Jonge in the first inning.
After Oregon Blaze 16 Elite scored one run in the top of the third, Fraser Valley Fusion 02A answered with one of their own. Fraser Valley Fusion 02A then answered when Alexis Crego doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Fraser Valley Fusion 02A put up six runs in the second inning. Hollingworth, Bell, Crego, De Jonge, and Madison MacGillivray each had RBIs in the big inning.
