FUSION SWEEPS POOL PLAY AT USA SOFTBALL'S ACERS NW CLASSIC, KENT WASHINGTON

Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A went undefeated on Saturday in pool play at the USA Softball Acers North West Classic at Hogan Park in Kent Washington. Fusion had wins against Montesana Bulldogs 18A (4-0), NW Lady Bandits 18A (7-6) and  Express Fastpitch (10-2). Fusion are now undefeated in 26 consecutive games played at USA tournaments. Fusion will take on Central Oregon Fast Pitch Avalanche in the quarter final playoff game on Sunday at 1:30 pm at Service Club in Kent.

GAME 1 SUMMARY

​Lindsay Bell Of Fusion 2002A Shuts Out Montesano Bulldogs 18UA

Lindsay Bell threw a shutout to lead Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A past Montesano Bulldogs 18U 4-0 on Saturday.
Fusion opened up scoring in the first inning. Jessica Seward hit a solo homer.
Bell got the win for Fusion. She lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out ten.
Fusion hit two home runs on the day. Seward went deep in the first inning. Shaneika Hollingworth put one out in the fifth inning.
Fusion racked up seven hits in the game. Seward and Mattisen Henrotte each managed multiple hits for Fusion. Henrotte and Seward each collected two hits to lead Fusion.

GAME 2 SUMMARY

​Fusion 2002A Overcomes NW Lady Bandits 18A In Face Of Early 4-Run Inning

NW Lady Bandits 18A scored four runs in the first inning, but Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A still won 7-6 on Saturday. 
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Fusion collected seven hits and NW Lady Bandits 18A had seven.
In the top of the second inning, Fusion tied things up at four. Mya Galbraith grounded out, scoring one run.
Fusion took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning.
Shaneika Hollingworth took the win for Fusion. She lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out nine and walking one.
Fusion collected seven hits on the day. Jessica Seward and Rachel Brissette each managed multiple hits for Fusion. Brissette and Seward each collected two hits to lead Fusion.

GAME 3 SUMMARY

​Fusion 2002A Beats Express Fastpich By Eight Runs

​Fraser Valley Fusion 2002A easily did away with Express Fastpich 10-2 on Saturday.
Fusion pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Jessica Seward singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Mya Galbraith singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Izzy Nicholson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Lindsay Bell led the Fusion to victory in the pitcher's circle. She lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six.
Fusion scattered 11 hits in the game. Brooke De Jonge and Galbraith each managed multiple hits for Fusion. Galbraith and De Jonge all had two hits to lead Fusion.
